Another year gone...

I can hardly believei t has been over a year since I posted anything on here. Of course it has been a hellish year to say the very least. I got alot of things sorted out, and now sort of know where things are going with life and what I want in it. It is so much fun going through things you have collected over the last twenty years and throwing the away because they no longer matter.

I have decided to focus on my art, focus on my stories and use those as my means to entertain myself and fuel other hobbies. I have started collecting BJDs and currently have SIX. Holy shit I never thought I would have so many, and in just over a year as well. I love them though, it has brought a whole new dimension to my characters that I did not think could exist. Eventually I will start posting images of y darlings here, though given my track record, it will probably be another year before I post again.

If there is anyone intersted in seeing pictures of my dolls that I have taken, this is the link to my Flickr where I keep them all:

www.flickr.com/photos/daliahserpentsong/

Otakon 2008

I know I haven't written very much on this subject, but yes, I did attend Otakon this year, and I have to say that is was quite possibly the best one I have attended yet. Now yes I know you will here alot of people say that Otakon is going downhill and the like, but I think it really more what you make of it.

I had alot of things planned for this year, meetings, events, places to go and things to purchase, so I was very rarely bored. I also had the chance to meet a very dear friend of mine this year, for the very first time face to face. It was an event I had been waiting for for a long time now, and even I admit, it seemed very surreal at first. Though I could not be happy that I did meet him. We had tried to before in the past and it never seemed to work, and I have to say, after meeting with him this year, I am rather glad we waited.

It's funny how age can make you just abit smarter, and make things that much better. It was the same way with my other friends. Had I met them earlier I am not certain things would have gone over so well. Perhaps things really do happen for a reason. I have always believed in fate, but I guess now it's finally turned in my favor.

Aside from fateful meetings there was also the con! Now don't get me wrong, all cons have their fair share of drama, and this one was no different, but I wanted to look at the positive. I got to stay with some very dear people, all of which were kind to me, and very caring. Never before have I met so many people at one time and never had a problem with one of them. We had fun, talked, worked on costumes and enjoyed each others company. I really don't know what cons would be like without dear friends to enjoy them with.

One problem with cons, is I never get out of one without ending up addicted to new things. This year, what is it? LARPing and Hellsing! Oh yes, I spent alot of time in the LARPing room. For those that don't know what LARPing is, it is like a pen an paper RPG but where you get to move about and actually act out your scenes. It is really rather addicting, if one can get the right character and keep up with the never ending plot line. I was playing as Sailor Pluto, which was hard, seeing as she is so quiet, but I played alongside such an animated character that I could not help but enjoy myself.

My other new obsession is Hellsing! I actually got to see the premiere of the 4th OVA! I was amazed mostly by the fact that they worked in the accents for all the characters and kept to it. Never before have I seen an anime do such a thing. It was amazing! I have to say I now understand what all the rage is about, it really is worth all of the acclaim.

So, another year is over, and I have only to look forward to the next Otakon. Though I am certain that this next year will only get better. Watch out Otakon, we have an Utena cosplay group coming your way!

A new page is turned...starting over

It is hard to believe that it has been almost three years since the last time I had come to this site. I use to spend so much time here, playing with others, sharing my life with those I cared about. But I have since shed old names, taken on new and become a different, and I hope better person.

I will not tell you my former names on here, though I am certain that there are barely any here now that would even know me if I did. I want to start anew. I want to be known for what I write here now, not for the things I had written back then.

I hope to share my life, my good times and bad with those that know me, so that they can be updated, even if I do not get a chance to speak with them as often as I should. I do not know how often I will post here, but I know when I do it will be for the big things, the important things, and perhaps a few less than important things. One cannot be all work and no play after all.
